Currently a Kindergarten teacher at the Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School and has been an educator in New York City for over seven years. Outside the classroom, she works individually with students providing both reading and math remediation. Emily has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kenyon College and a Master’s degree in Childhood Education from Bank Street College. She believes in meeting every child where he or she is and enhancing each child’s skills with a differentiated, individualized approach. Emily pulls from her experience and training in a range of approaches including Orton-Gillingham, Fundations, Sounds in Motion, Stern Math and Terc Math. Emily’s hands-on, experiential method of teaching helps students make meaning of the world around them while also developing a love of learning.
