Elementary / Lower School, Middle School Generalists
Has taught 1st, 2nd and 5th grade in public schools in Seattle and New York, including a dual-language (Spanish immersion) classroom. She most recently taught in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) special education classroom at the Ella Baker School in Manhattan. Prior to her work in public schools, Emma taught abroad as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and as a Compton Fellow in Guatemala and Ecuador. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Creative Writing from Vassar College and a Master’s in Teaching from the University of Washington. As a tutor, Emma collaborates with her students to establish goals and strategies that work for them. Her instruction is child-centered and built on a foundation of social and emotional growth.
