An Intervention Specialist at DREAM Charter School in East Harlem. She currently teaches K-6 students using a variety of specialized programs to assist in student mastery of literacy skills. Katrina has 12 years of experience working with students in both small and large group settings including a dual language classroom teaching English and Spanish as a Teach For America Corps Member in Miami, Florida. She is also a certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner, and provides targeted instruction for students (2nd grade and above) with language based learning disabilities such as dyslexia or generalized reading difficulties. Katrina earned her B.A. from University of Florida and her Masters in Education with a professional certificate in Special Education from Teacher U at Hunter College. Even though Katrina has focused on literacy as an interventionist for the last four years, she also has extensive experience with cognitively guided mathematics instruction and enjoys tutoring students in both reading and math.
