Taught math in New York City independent schools for ten years, working with students in both lower and middle school. He graduated from St. John’s University with a master’s in childhood education. Prior to starting his career in teaching, he worked in the financial services industry and earned an M.B.A. in finance from N.Y.U. Stern School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Wesleyan University. He discovered his love for working with children while volunteering through Learning Leaders as a parent volunteer at his daughter’s elementary school. He believes that solutions to math problems can be approached from many different ways, and not through just one set algorithm and encourages his students to always test their thinking.
